About Us

The Council of Evangelical Churches is incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1979. We as the Council, based on the revised table of precedence of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, is listed at number 14 along with other key religious organizations of Trinidad and Tobago as of November 1st, 2012 by this Act of Parliament.

There are some key things that we must identify as the Council. For instance, we were created to provide a spiritual fellowship among Evangelical bodies as well as to assist member bodies by rendering special services and channelling relief to individual practising Christians. Therefore, to unite is very important. We were created to unite the adherence to the Christian faith. To teach love and understanding amongst themselves and to raise funds for the purpose of providing education and educational facilities for the member bodies of the Council.

We can go on and on and on about the purpose of our existence but more importantly, in the context of where we are now and how we function, the Council of Evangelical Churches is basically a facility to connect them. We are not a local church neither are we a parachurch organization.

The Trinidad and Tobago Council of Evangelical Churches is a part of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) as well as the Evangelical Alliance of the Caribbean (EAC). The World Evangelical Alliance is the third largest Evangelical Alliance in the World and it consists of over 600 million adherence. We have over twenty-nine Evangelical Alliances around the world.

Holy Scriptures

The Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, Infallible, entirely trustworthy and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

One God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; creator and redeemer of all.

Jesus Christ

Our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifested in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His meditational work and His personal return in power and glory.

The salvation of lost and sinful men through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, by faith apart from works and regeneration by the Holy Spirit.

Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a holy witness and work for the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Church

The unity of the spirit of all true believers, the church and the body of Christ.

The resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
